WHO WE ARE

Don't you want to go where everybody knows your name?
That's Immanuel!

IBC is not small because of dysfunction. We are small by design. “Strategically Small Church" means we will only numerically grow to fill our present geographic footprint. Once we reach this size, we will “give away” members committed to discipleship in order to assist another church which is struggling. This will give us room to grow while assisting another church’s revitalization efforts.

“Strategically Small” also means we will develop partnerships with churches, individuals, and organizations who can help us accomplish ministry that normally small churches aren’t equipped to handle.

What Does  S.M.A.L.L.L.  Stand For?

Synchronized: The ministry of Immanuel is a rifle, not a shotgun. Each week, we will be focused on one message from scripture in order to ensure God’s Word is accurately taught and applied to our lives. The pastor is the lead teacher. The SMALLL Group leaders’ emphasis will be fellowship, application, and additional pastoral care.

Missional: The ministry of Immanuel cannot be about us. Therefore, each SMALLL Group will have missions projects to which they will support and participate. The main missions project will be church revitalization.

Accountable: The expectation is for each SMALLL Group member to be an active member within the Body of Christ. We will lovingly “spur one another on to love and good deeds.” Specifically, everyone will be lovingly encouraged to:

Learn: God’s Word is the “lamp for our feet and a light for our path.” Therefore, everyone will be challenged weekly to understand and apply God’s Word to their everyday lives.

Lead: Because every believer has spiritual gifts for ministry, everyone will know who they are in Christ and what they are called to do within His Kingdom. This will further prepare Immanuel for the next step of assisting others in church revitalization.

Love: Everyone wants to be known and appreciated. During the good times and the bad, SMALLL Groups will be there to encourage and support those in their group.
