Some churches are small because of dysfunction. Not so with Immanuel! We are small because of God’s calling and our choice. Just like every Christian Church, God calls us to share the Gospel and lead others to faith in Jesus. However, when our congregation outgrows our present facility, we will “give members and leaders away” to other like-minded churches that have space to grow but need revitalization. This will help our other churches within our community, give us the room to continue to grow, as well as utilize our resources for ministry instead of new buildings!
Does Immanuel have a contemporary or traditional style of worship? Answer: Yes! Because we have a multiethnic and multigenerational congregation, our worship style is balanced, blended, and reverent, all for the glory of God!
“Balanced, blended, and reverent” means traditional models of ministry mixed with Christ-Centered contemporary ministry in order to get the never changing gospel to an ever-changing world!
Synchronized-The ministry of Immanuel is a rifle, not a shotgun. Each week, we focus on one message from scripture in order to ensure God’s Word is accurately taught and applied to our lives. Our Teaching Pastor is the lead teacher. The S.M.A.L.L.L Group leaders’ emphasis will be fellowship, scripture application, and additional pastoral care.
Missional- The ministry of Immanuel cannot be about us. Therefore, each S.M.A.L.L.L Group will have missions projects in which they will support and participate. The main missions project will be church revitalization.
Accountable- The expectation is for each S.M.A.L.L.L Group member to be an active member within the Body of Christ. We will lovingly “spur one another on to love and good deeds.” Specifically, everyone will be lovingly encouraged to:
Learn- God’s Word is the “lamp for our feet and a light for our path.” Therefore, everyone is challenged weekly to understand and apply God’s Word to their everyday lives.
Lead- Because every believer has spiritual gifts for ministry, everyone will know who they are in Christ and what they are called to do within His Kingdom. This will further prepare Immanuel for the next step of assisting others in church revitalization.
Love- Everyone wants to be known and appreciated. During the good times and the bad, S.M.A.L.L.L Groups will be there to encourage and support those in their group.
